OUR MISSION

At Be A Mercy, our mission is to channel obligatory (zakah) and voluntary (sadaqah) charity as acts of worship to support faith-aligned causes. We are the Doing Business As (DBA) entity of the Islamic Chaplaincy of New Jersey, a 501(c)(3) religious nonprofit organization.

We are not a standalone humanitarian or relief agency. Rather, we are a dedicated extension of our religious commitment—serving others through organized, purpose-driven giving rooted in the teachings of Islam.

Through Be A Mercy Foundation, our chaplains, members, and supporters engage in charitable work as a reflection of their religious values. These efforts are not humanitarian in nature, but expressions of Islamic worship—such as zakah and sadaqah—aimed at uplifting our congregants and the broader Muslim community. Together, we cultivate a faith-based network committed to service, spiritual growth, and well-being, both locally and globally.

Our charitable efforts are zakat-eligible and rooted in Islamic principles. While operational costs are necessary for fulfilling our religious mission, we aim to manage resources responsibly and with care. As a religious nonprofit, we view zakah and sadaqah not just as charity, but as acts of worship—entrusted to us for service that is thoughtful, organized, and grounded in faith.
