Around the world, more than 780 million people live on less than $1.90 per person per day, an amount which is impossible to support a healthy livelihood in any part of the world. More than enough food is produced to feed the global population, but more than 690 million people worldwide go to bed hungry each night!

Hunger is strongly interconnected with poverty, and it involves interactions among an array of social, political, demographic, and societal factors. People living in poverty frequently face household food insecurity, and live in unsafe environments that have little to no access to quality water, and sanitation. As if this isn’t bad enough, they also face the hardship of inadequate access to health services and education—all of which contribute to their impoverished circumstance. BMF has been hard at work on the front lines fighting hunger and targeting its root causes and enabling communities to build long-term resiliency.

With your support, BMF currently provides 1,500 meals daily across three regions of the world. Additionally, BMF distributes over 3,000 grocery baskets annually, each sufficient to feed a family of four for an entire month.
