Zakat Al Fitr & Fidya

Zakat Al Fitr & Fidya

Fidya for the The Elderly & The Sick

If a person is unable to fast because he/ she is elderly, or sick with no hope of recovery, then he/she is not obliged to fast. In this case, one should not fast and feed one poor person for each day he/she is unable to fast. The amount is $15 per day of fasts that are missed.

Basics of Zakat Al Fitr – For All

Zakat-al-Fitr is paid in expiation for the sins and mistakes we commit during Ramadan. It’s an obligation upon every sane adult Muslim and the amount is $15 per person, which has to be paid before the day of Eid (latest).

This year Be a Mercy Foundation strives to distribute Zakat ul Fitr and Fidya payments in Gaza (as hot meals) among Rohingya families and Orphans, and needy Muslims across west Africa. BMF’s goal is to raise 30K as Zakat ul Fitr and Fidya to ensure needy Muslims also have a happy joyous Eid. We request all payments be made ASAP to arrange appropriate distribution.
