Mission

Be A Mercy Foundation is the Doing Business As (DBA) entity of the Islamic Chaplaincy of New Jersey, a religious-based nonprofit tax-exempt organization. Our mission is to channel religious obligatory and voluntary charity to support various causes, ensuring that our contributions are both organized and impactful. We are not a standalone humanitarian or relief organization but a dedicated extension of our religious commitment to assist those in need.

Through Be A Mercy Foundation, our chaplains, members, and well-wishers engage in humanitarian efforts that reflect the core values of our faith. By participating in these efforts, we create a supportive network aimed at alleviating suffering and promoting the well-being of our congregants and the broader Muslim community, both locally and abroad.

Our causes are 100% zakat eligible, and while we do have overhead costs to ensure effective operation and management, our volunteer-driven approach significantly reduces these costs compared to other humanitarian organizations. This allows us to maximize the impact of our charitable efforts, ensuring that every contribution goes towards making a meaningful difference in the lives of those we serve.
